Lyon – Metro B extension: LAVIOSA products in Tunneling projects

Introduction
In mid-May 2021, the Coline TBM arrived at its destination, thus effectively concluding the request for bentonite for the excavation of the tunnel relating to the Line B extension project of the Lyon metro.

Project
The stations of the Southern Hospital, Gare d’Oullins and Oullins Center in Lyon are now connected!
Since leaving the launch pit in November 2019, Coline has traveled 2.4km, laid 1,250 rings and excavated around 400,000 tons of material.
The spectacular 2,200-ton TBM machine with a power of 7.6 MW, the equivalent of a FrecciaRossa, has demonstrated its ability to nibble the hard granite of soils as well as the most friable and alluvial soils.
