Lining Waterproofing & Confinement Solutions
Il settore Lining Waterproofing and Containement Solutions è impegnato nella produzione dei geocompositi bentonitici Modulo Geobent ed Edilmodulo e dei relativi prodotti accessori, destinati rispettivamente alle applicazioni ambientali, dove trovano impiego come elemento di impermeabilizzazione nella realizzazio- ne della barriera di fondo e del capping degli impianti di discarica di rifiuti e negli interventi di bonifica, per proteggere suolo ed acque dalla diffusione degli inqui- nanti, ed alle applicazioni in edilizia, dove trovano impiego come barriera nella realizzazione delle strutture interrate, per evitare infiltrazioni causa di possibile riduzione di funzionalità e durata dell’opera.
La proposta è completata dalle bentoniti in polvere Laviobent destinate al mi- glioramento delle caratteristiche di permeabilità delle barriere minerali previste nell’ambito della realizzazione di interventi di confinamento nel settore ambien- tale, dalle bentoniti Laviobent/Laviomud destinate alla stabilizzazione dei rifiuti ed infine dalle soluzioni per il contenimento dei rifiuti radioattivi.
Il settore Lining Waterproofing and Containement Solutions opera a scala globa- le controllando l’intera filiera, a partire dalla coltivazione delle miniere di pro- prietà, passando attraverso la produzione dei prodotti finiti nei due impianti pro- duttivi di riferimento per il settore situati in Italia ed in India, per arrivare infine alla fornitura ai nostri clienti offrendo a completamento un puntuale ed accurato supporto tecnico frutto della lunga esperienza maturata nel settore.
L’anno 2020 ha fatto registrare risultati sensibilmente in crescita rispetto all’an- no precedente creando le condizioni per il superamento dell’obiettivo fissato in sede di budget per il settore nonostante le pesanti ricadute a tutti i livelli deter- minate dalla pandemia.
Il 2020 è stato contraddistinto rispetto al 2019 da una significativa crescita del segmento Ambiente e del segmento Sealants, e da una sostanziale conferma nel settore edilizio che ha dovuto però soffrire un blocco pressochè totale delle attività in cantiere durante il lockdown a differenza delle attività nel settore am- bientale che in virtù della loro specificità hanno subito solo un rallentamento.
La motivazione della crescita del segmento Ambiente e Sealants non è da ricer- care come già avvenuto nel corso del 2019 nell’acquisizione di grossi progetti che coinvolgono volumi rilevanti come invece nel 2018, ma nello sviluppo della nostra rete distributiva attraverso il consolidamento ed il rafforzamento delle collaborazioni esistenti e lo sviluppo di nuove che, oltre ad offrire un contributo immediato nell’anno appena passato allungheranno i loro effetti anche sui pros- simi anni a venire consentendoci di rendere più capillare la nostra presenza sui mercati e di conseguenza di intercettare più efficacemente le richieste stesse del mercati.
La conferma dei risultati del segmento Edilizia rispetto all’anno precedente è da ricondurre principalmente alla crescita soprattutto all’estero dei nuovi prodotti messi a punto per fronteggiare la politica commerciale particolarmente aggres- siva messa in atto dai nostri concorrenti e l’affermarsi di soluzioni alternative ai geocompositi bentonitici.
The Lining Waterproofing and Containement Solutions sector is engaged in the production of bentonitic geocomposites Modulo Geobent and Edilmodulo and related ancillary products, intended respectively for environmental applications, where they are used as a waterproofing element in the construction of the bottom barrier and the capping of waste landfill plants and in reclamation interventions, to protect soil and water from the spread of pollutants, and to applications in construction, where they find use as a barrier in the construction of underground structures, to avoid infiltration due to possible reduction of functionality and duration of the work.
The proposal is complemented by Laviobent bentonites powdered to improve the permeability characteristics of mineral barriers envisaged in the context of containment interventions in the environmental sector, by Laviobent/Laviomud bentonites intended for the stabilization of waste and finally by solutions for the containment of radioactive waste.
The Lining Waterproofing and Containement Solutions sector operates on a global scale controlling the entire supply chain, starting from the cultivation of the owned mines, passing through the production of finished products in the two production plants of reference for the sector located in Italy and India, to finally arrive at the supply to our customers offering to complete a punctual and accurate technical support resulting from the long experience gained in the sector.
The year 2020 recorded significantly increasing results compared to the previous year, creating the conditions for exceeding the target set in the budget for the sector despite the heavy repercussions at all levels caused by the pandemic.
2020 was marked by a significant growth in the Environment segment and the Sealants segment compared to 2019, and by a substantial confirmation in the construction sector that it had to suffer a near-total blockage of activities on site during the lockdown, unlike activities in the environmental sector that due to their specificity have suffered only a slowdown.
The motivation for the growth of the Environment and Sealants segment is not to be found as already happened during 2019 in the acquisition of large projects involving significant volumes as in 2018, but in the development of our distribution network through the consolidation and strengthening of existing collaborations and the development of new ones that, in addition to offering an immediate contribution in the past year, will also extend their effects in the coming years to come. making our presence on the markets more widespread and consequently to intercept the very demands of the markets more effectively.
The confirmation of the results of the Construction segment compared to the previous year is mainly due to the growth especially abroad of new products developed to face the particularly aggressive commercial policy implemented by our competitors and the establishing of alternative solutions to bentonitic geocomposites.
