softener, or as an aesthetic ingredient in the form of coloured granules. For thick detergent products such as creams and pastes, we produce bentonite with thickening and suspending effects. The top reasons for using bentonite in the formulation and production of detergents are as follows: \u2013 to soften; \u2013 to improve the formula; \u2013 to thicken\/suspend solids within the detergent. Bentonite offers a softening effect by filling the micro-cavities in the fabric fibres, leaving the surface softer and more pleasant to the
